Description
The expanded edition of the 1986 album “5150,” released after Sammy Hagar joined the band, was officially released in 2026 as a 40th-anniversary edition and included audio and video. This edition also includes the first night of the two New Haven shows that year, which were later released as the live album “LIVE IN NEW HAVEN 1986.” This first night’s performance is now available in its complete form, thanks to a high-quality audience master recently made public by a taper. While cameras were present for live video and live recordings were made for both shows, it was said that the recording quality of the first night was problematic, so the August 27th show was used for the official release. However, it has been confirmed that some footage from the August 26th show was also used. This full live recording has rarely been available until now, but with the discovery of the original audience cassette master, the entire performance is included, including songs not officially released, and with a running time of over two hours. Furthermore, the official version of “BEST OF BOTH WORLDS,” which was shortened, has been added in its original full-length version. In contrast to the official release, which was poorly received for lacking anything new, this release features a complete recording of a highly polished performance that should have been released as the official album, making it a must-have item for fans. disc 1 : 1.
