This release features a high-quality stereo soundboard recording of a performance in Tel Aviv, Israel in May 1997, from the tour following the release of their ninth album, “DREAMTIME,” taken from a local FM broadcast. The live performance, held on May 20, 1987, at the Cinerama cultural center in Tel Aviv, Israel, was part of the tour coinciding with the release of their ninth album, “DREAMTIME,” approximately two years after their previous album, “AURAL SCULPTURE,” in October 1986. Recorded from a cassette tape aircheck of a local FM broadcast, the rough mix amplifies the impact, and the audience’s cheers are mixed in just right, allowing you to fully experience the atmosphere of the venue with a clear sound! Furthermore, the pitch, which was off by nearly a whole tone due to the master recording, and the positioning, which was off by some songs, have been carefully corrected. The recording begins with an interview with Hugh and Jean. This was their first live performance of 1987, and the setlist featured five songs from “DREAMTIME,” including the single “Shakin’ Like A Leaf,” which was released about two weeks later. The thrilling arrangement of seamlessly connecting “Was It You?” and “Down In The Sewer” is a highlight unique to this period! It’s a shame that the first few seconds of “Strangle Little Girl” and the latter half of “London Lady,” the final song of the encore, are missing, but you can still fully enjoy the superb performance with a horn section!
