Description
A rare recording has emerged, capturing a complete high-quality stereo audience recording of a Brighton concert in June 1984, shortly after the addition of new guitarist John Valentine Carruzas! This rare recording captures a live performance held on June 22, 1984, at The Brighton Centre, a conference center in Brighton, shortly after John Valentine Carruzas joined the band as new guitarist, following Robert Smith’s departure and the release of the EP “THE THORN” in October 1984. The recording boasts a wide dynamic range, with well-balanced and stable sound quality for both vocals and other parts. Furthermore, the pitch, which was off by nearly a whole tone due to the master recording, has been carefully corrected. The setlist features five tracks from the album “Hyaena,” released shortly after the album’s launch, including the opening track “Dazzle,” and also includes “Red Over White” from the EP “THE THORN,” released in October of the same year. The Cardiff concert from the previous day is available on a previously released album by the same label, also featuring a high-quality stereo audience recording, but “Blow The House Down” and the final track, “Switch,” were not played at that concert. You can enjoy a powerful performance in high fidelity, showcasing the kaleidoscopic guitar playing of new guitarist John, who seems to have joined the band so soon after, seamlessly blending into the mix!
