Description

This release features a nearly complete, 1-hour-and-51-minute recording of the August 18, 1974, concert in Milwaukee—part of the North American tour—sourced from a stereo soundboard tape leaked by someone associated with the band at the time. This recording comes directly from the mixing console and was released in recent years by a former staff member; while there are a few minor cuts and it slightly lacks the ambient atmosphere of an audience recording, it is completely raw and unedited. It offers a true stereo mix with excellent separation, capturing the authentic, live sounds of Santana’s guitar, keyboards, and percussion. Furthermore, compared to previously circulated recordings of this show, this version offers a longer runtime and vastly superior audio quality. The setlist—centered on tracks from the album *Welcome*—represents the band’s best lineup and repertoire of that era; fans will also appreciate how the improvisations vary from night to night, even on the same songs.
