Description

This release captures the third night of Rush’s “Fifty Something Tour”—their long-awaited return to live performance after an 11-year hiatus—held in Los Angeles on June 11, 2026. It features a combination of high-quality audio and video. The audio is a top-tier audience recording captured with the latest digital equipment, preserving the full 2-hour-40-minute concert with soundboard-quality fidelity. The accompanying DVD offers an unobstructed view of the entire stage from the front row of the stands on the left side, utilizing precise zooming at key moments. It also brilliantly captures the visuals from the massive screen behind the stage, allowing viewers to fully appreciate the scale of the spectacular, state-of-the-art production. Much attention was focused on who would step in for Neil Peart; the role was filled by German drummer Anika Nilles—a composer and producer known for her work with Jeff Beck—joining the band alongside a keyboardist to form a quartet. This inaugural tour kicked off at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the very venue where they had played their final show with Neil. The concert opened with “Xanadu,” followed by a two-part setlist packed with the band’s greatest hits. Tribute sections honoring Neil Peart were woven throughout the show; tribute videos played before “Bravado” and “Time Stand Still,” and—as with the previous two shows—Aimee Mann (who appeared on the original studio recording) joined the band on stage to recreate that classic track, marking another major highlight. A key feature of this four-night run at the Forum was the significantly varied setlist each night; on this particular evening, the band performed the *Moving Pictures* album in its entirety, featuring rotating tracks such as “Camera Eye” and “New World Man.” The recording also captures the moment—just as “Part I: Overture” from *2112* began—when Geddy had to step offstage due to a technical issue; the performance was interrupted for about a minute before they restarted from the intro. Including this incident, the release offers a complete, top-quality audio-visual recreation of the third day of their comeback tour—an essential item for long-time fans.
