Description
This is a must-hear release for fans, featuring a rare solo performance by Ralph Towner at Postaula in Bremen, Germany—recorded with astonishing audio quality—from the year following the release of his debut solo album, *Diary*. The eight tracks fully embody Towner’s unique musical universe—an “acoustic wonderland”—revealing the profound influences of jazz (notably Bill Evans), classical music, and Brazilian styles on his work. The track “1×12,” originally featured on the 1972 album *Trios/Solos*, appears here in a significantly different, more aggressive rendition than the studio version. Also included is an early version of the masterpiece “Nimbus,” a song later made famous by the quartet he formed with Jan Garbarek and others. Live at Postaula, Bremen, Germany – March 12, 1974. 1. 1×12 2. Summer Solstice 3. Nardis 4. Goodbye Pork Pie Hat 5. Erg 6. Rain Maker 7. Nimbus 8. Raven’s Wood. Ralph Towner (guitar, piano).
