This release captures the January 24, 1983, concert in Fort Worth, Texas—part of his debut solo North American tour, which took place as he reached the peak of his solo career following the massive success of *Face Value* and *Hello, I Must Be Going!*—in a stereo soundboard recording that runs for one hour and fifty minutes. Sourced directly from the original master tape of a mixing-desk feed released in recent years by a former staff member, the recording—while containing a few minor cuts and lacking some of the ambient atmosphere of a live audience recording—delivers the raw, powerful sound exactly as it came through the venue’s PA system, offering an extraordinary, immersive stereo experience. The setlist, comprising seventeen songs exclusively from his first two solo albums, is unique to this inaugural tour; the inclusion of the Brand X instrumental “…And So to F…” as the closing number is a delightful surprise.
