This new item features a complete recording of the live performance held on September 3, 1998, at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, a multi-purpose arena with a capacity of approximately 12,000 people located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, approximately one year after the release of their seventh album, “Peace and Noise.” The recording is a high-quality stereo audience recording of the live performance! Directly digitally transferred from the DAT master, the recording boasts excellent balance between vocals and other parts, a wide range, and depth, resulting in a clear, high-quality sound that is considered top-class for its time! Appearing as a support act for Bob Dylan’s Australian tour, Patti appeared on stage with a band featuring the same lineup that has been together for many years, including recordings: Lenny Kaye and Oliver Ray on guitar, JD Doughty on drums, and Tony Shanahan on bass. They opened with “Waiting Underground” and “Whirl Away” from their then-new album “Peace and Noise,” followed by “Summer Cannibals” from their previous album “Gone Again,” and a medley arrangement of a Buddy Holly cover, “Not Fade Away,” from “Memento Mori,” with Patti’s blues harp playing in the latter half of this song. The set ended with a Neil Young cover, “Rockin’ In The Free World.” It was a short set of about 52 minutes, but you can enjoy a very intense performance!
