Description
This release features a full 2-hour recording of the October 30th concert at Brandeis University in Massachusetts, from the “Travel” North American tour with the newly formed PMG after a lineup change in 1983, in a newly upgraded 2026 version. The already excellent audience master has been further enhanced with noise reduction and other remastering techniques, recreating the entire performance with superior sound quality. This is a valuable live performance from the period leading up to their global breakthrough after moving to Geffen Records, showcasing Metheny’s new challenges. The participation of South American multi-instrumentalist Pedro Aznar adds breadth and depth to the sound, creating a magnificent live performance that seems to open the door to the Metheny world to come. Furthermore, this performance features almost the same setlist as their subsequent Japanese tour, making it a must-have collector’s edition for fans familiar with that era.
