Description
A highly sought-after two-disc set has been released, featuring the first-ever complete recording, including the encore, of Miles Davis’s live performance in the Bronx, New York, on March 22nd, the second day of his 1986 world tour. The Bronx was considered one of the most dangerous areas in New York in the 70s, but it is said to have improved considerably in the 80s. There must be some significance to Miles’s decision to perform in the Bronx at the beginning of this 1986 tour. This first-ever complete recording features an audience recording, but the restoration work has improved the sound quality so much that you might mistake it for a board recording. Furthermore, Miles’s trumpet playing remains strong even towards the end of the show, as he plays “Stronger Than Before,” “Al Jarreau,” and “Rubberband,” making this a must-listen for fans.
