This recording captures the entire performance at the Ford Auditorium in Detroit on September 2nd, 1982, towards the end of Miles Davis’s 1982 tour, which began in earnest the year after his miraculous comeback tour. This live performance took place at the Montreux Detroit Kool Jazz Festival, held from September 1st to 6th. The audio, originally recorded on cassette tape, has been restored to be as noise-free as possible, resulting in an easy-to-listen-to audience recording. There is some noise due to a PA system malfunction at the venue, but it disappears after a few seconds. Also, Miles’ trumpet is slightly off-key during the opening track, “Come Get It.” The sound quality has been restored to be milder compared to recordings available online.
