Description
A recording of Miles Davis’s April 10, 1989 concert in Udine, Italy, originally released about 20 years ago, has now been released, featuring the first-ever recording of the master audio restored and corrected by a renowned overseas enthusiast—a highly coveted release for fans. This 1989 Udine concert vividly captures the overwhelmingly aggressive and electric stage presence that Miles Davis displayed after “TUTU.” It’s no longer a recreation of past masterpieces. Miles seeks a sound that can only be born in that moment, in that place, freely manipulating sharp trumpet, intense rhythms, and an electric sonic space. Particularly noteworthy are Miles’s “timing” and “tone.” With just one note, he changes the atmosphere, and the band accelerates in response to that single note. There, you find not so much a maestro with a long career, but Miles himself, constantly pursuing new sounds. It’s different from listening to a completed masterpiece from the past. What did Miles feel that night, and where was he trying to go? This album, “Definitive Udine 1989,” allows you to experience that in a realistic way. Restoration corrections: 1. Removed DC offset and corrected waveform bias. 2. Corrected the balance of the left and right channels. 3. Repaired noise such as clicks, pops, crackles, and dropouts. 4.
