The 1986 world tour began with a performance in Ohio on March 21st. However, Mike Stern left the band after this show, and the new guitarist was Robben Ford, who had also toured with George Harrison and Joni Mitchell, played in Tom Scott’s band, and was heavily involved in the formation of Yellowjackets. The band made their debut in Washington D.C. in April of the 1986 tour, but this New York performance, which attracted a lot of attention, can be considered their true debut live show. The audio from the second day, April 6th, is a soundboard recording that is an improved and restored version of the previously released “Beacon Theatre 1986.” However, the complete version of the first day’s live performance on the 5th is an audience recording, but it is being released for the first time and is a highly sought-after recording for collectors. Of course, as always, the data sent in by overseas collectors clearly states the equipment used for recording, and the cassette deck used was a Sony TC-D58 (commonly known as Densuke). There was some audio disruption at the beginning of the live performance, but it was quickly resolved, so you can enjoy it without worry.
