Description
This release features a nearly complete recording of the second night of Miles Davis’s 1983 UK tour, specifically the April 28th performance at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. The concert was recorded using a high-quality audience master recording and has been digitally remastered in 2026. While not entirely complete due to the fading out of the final track, “JEAN PIERRE,” the remastering has corrected and rectified hiss noise and occasional skips, and the balance has been adjusted to achieve what is arguably the best quality currently available. The live performance, featuring two legendary guitarists, Mike Stern and John Scofield, showcases Miles’ excellent form from the opening track “SPEAK,” and he remains incredibly active throughout, hitting high/long notes and unleashing powerful blows. In addition, the two guitarists, John Scofield and Mike Stern, who are the core of this tour, are in top form, and Stern’s creative phrases appear throughout the solos in particular, which are reminiscent of the performances that took place in Japan a month later, making this a must-listen item for fans who remember that time.
