This definitive tour release features recordings from their 1989 world tour, including live performances in Philadelphia and Montreal, Canada, all captured in superb, official-quality sound from FM sources that show absolutely no degradation. It is said that the two hit it off and started performing live together after Mike Stern fully participated in Mike Stern’s fourth album in 1989, but Bob actually also participated in the 1986 album “Upside Downside,” playing a stylish tenor saxophone on the classic track “After You.” Furthermore, Mike Stern, Lincoln Goines, and Deniz Chambers participated in Bob Berg’s masterpiece “In the Shadows,” which features the same lineup as the tour recordings released this time. It is believed that their relationship became close shortly after leaving Miles Davis’s band. This release features previously unreleased recordings from Philadelphia and Montreal, surpassing the quality of previously unofficial releases and reaching official-level quality.
