Michael Jackson/Sweden 08.16.1997 Soundboard Edition Remastered & more

This release couples footage from the Euro leg of the “HiIStory” tour, which ultimately became their final world tour from 1996 to 1997, specifically the August 16, 1997 performance in Gothenburg, Sweden, with 2 hours and 15 minutes of audio and video newly digitally remastered in 2026. While this footage has been circulating for some time and is familiar to fans, the original VHS master was of lower quality compared to recent digital video. Therefore, this title features mastering using the latest equipment for both audio and video, reconstructing this valuable live footage with significantly improved clarity and balance. This tour had slightly different content between the first and second legs. Incidentally, Japan was the first leg, so some of the setlist was changed. The second leg of this Euro tour is characterized by the omission of songs from “Off the Wall,” “Come Together,” and “D.S.,” and the inclusion of “Blood On The Dance Floor.” In particular, the inclusion of “Dangerous,” which was omitted from the setlist at the Tokyo performance the previous year, will be a welcome sight for avid fans. And above all, the magnificent show is well known, from Michael’s magical opening appearance to the world-famous “You Are Not Alone” and “Earth Song,” and everything else is perfect. Even those who own previously released items should definitely check out this quality version; it’s a must-have item for fans.
