Michael Jackson Michael Jackson/History Alternate Album Collection Separate Chapter Edition

This 2-CD set serves as the second installment in the latest “Alternate Collection” series based on the 1995 album *HIStory*. It features a comprehensive collection of previously unreleased songs, alternate versions, and remixes—none of which appeared on the original album—all newly remastered for 2026. The original *HIStory* album—released on his own label as a combination of a greatest hits collection and a new studio album—preceded one of the largest world tours in history. Following the concept of the first volume, this second release is a newly compiled collection of rarities and unreleased tracks. Disc 1 presents an “alternate album” experience, featuring the complete tracklist of *HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book II* (specifically the “HIStory Continues” disc) using entirely different audio sources, such as alternate takes and remixes. Disc 2, titled “HIStory Extra,” includes unreleased songs, demos, and tracks left off the original album that were not featured in the first volume; notably, it includes full versions of demos like “Innocent Man,” “The Verdict,” and “2 Bad”—tracks previously available only in fragmentary form. The latter half of the disc features rarities originally included on the *HIStory: Lifestyle* promotional release, such as the “MJ Megamix,” “MJ Mega-Remix,” and “MJ Urban Megamix”—medley remixes of the hit singles found on the *HIStory Begins* (greatest hits) disc. Reconstructing precious recordings from the peak of Michael’s career in the 80s and 90s, this title—along with future planned releases—is an essential limited collector’s edition for fans.
