Michael Jackson/Ghosts Special Collector’s Edition

As the latest collector’s edition of Michael Jackson’s short film “GHOSTS,” this title, presented in 1CD+1DVD format, includes the complete version of the film in newly remastered HD, along with rare footage and a soundtrack, all recorded in 2026 with the latest sound and video. First of all, this short film and music video, produced in 1996, was made with approximately $15 million invested by Michael himself, and was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most expensive production ever and the longest music video at approximately 40 minutes. Stephen King, the master of horror novels, co-wrote the story and screenplay with Michael, and SFX master Stan Winston directed the film, in which Michael himself played five roles, creating a feature-length horror film that caused a sensation upon its release. It also features incredible performances on the three songs “2 Bad,” “Is It Scary,” and “Ghosts,” and its high quality has been praised as being even more impressive than “Thriller.” However, having been released in 1996 and premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival the following year, and also released on VHS in a limited edition in 1997, it is now difficult to obtain. This DVD of the title features the main feature film in the best quality with newly edited HD remastered footage, and also includes uniquely edited Japanese subtitles (with on/off option). Furthermore, the extra section includes making-of footage that was broadcast only on TV in the US and Japan at the time, as well as the unreleased original version that was originally planned to be released simultaneously with the film “Addams Family Values” in 1993 as “Is It Scary?”, a valuable piece of footage that served as a prototype for “GHOSTS” with the same setting but different cast, and also includes PV versions of three songs, for a total of 1 hour and 36 minutes. The CD includes a newly edited 2026 version of the film’s soundtrack, as well as related audio tracks with different mixes, and unreleased demos for “Addams Family Values”.
