Description
The Lords of the New Church’s December 1986 Swiss performance is captured in excellent stereo audience recording! After the breakup of the Dead Boys, Steve Bators formed the punk supergroup Lords of the New Church with Dave Tregna (formerly of Sham 69), Brian James (formerly of The Damned), and Nick Turner. This rare recording captures their gig on December 14, 1986, at Kaufluten, Switzerland’s oldest club, in excellent stereo audience recording! Using the first generation tape as the master, the recording boasts a wide dynamic range and well-balanced, clear sound quality for all parts, including vocals and chorus work. The album begins with the opening sound effect (the theme from the American TV drama “Perry Mason,” which aired from 1957 to 1966), and includes four tracks from their masterpiece 3rd album “METHOD TO OUR MADNESS,” which was the last album with the original members, such as the opening track “Kiss of Death.” It also features the rare number “The Lords Prayer,” written by Adverts’ TV Smith, the rare track “Mind Warp,” which was contributed to the soundtrack of the movie “THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2,” and for the encore, a cover of Rufus Thomas’ “Walkin’ The Dog.” The final number is the Rolling Stones’ 1965 hit “The Last Time.” This is a superb setlist! A must-have item for fans!
