Kiss / Australia 1980 Complete TV Broadcast Remastered Edition

This DVD features a full 1 hour and 50 minute recording of the Sydney performance on November 22nd, 1980, from the band’s first Oceania tour following the release of “UNMASKED,” in official-quality pro-shot footage. The original U-matic master tape containing this TV broadcast footage has recently been unearthed. This title is a direct digital transfer of that original master. Incidentally, “U-matic” is a video cassette format developed by Sony, used before Beta and VHS, making it quite rare and expensive at the time. While not quite on par with modern digital technology, the DVD, created using the latest equipment, is remarkably high-quality for early 1980s footage. Furthermore, by supplementing Gene’s solo after “Love Gun” and “God of Thunder,” which were cut off due to the master’s limitations, with footage from a separate master, a nearly complete, uncut recording has been achieved. This rare live performance from the ‘UNMASKED’ era, a turning point in KISS’s long history, is presented in the best quality, coinciding with the period when Eric Carr had just joined following Peter Criss’s departure, and also featuring Ace’s final performance before his departure after this tour.
