This exceptional release features a live performance from the “Art Dür” jazz club in Gothenburg on November 21, compiled from three surviving master tapes and remastered by a studio engineer. The sound quality is nothing short of magnificent; hiss noise has been suppressed to the absolute limit, resulting in a listening experience completely free of fatigue. A key highlight is the natural clarity and crispness of the mid- and high-frequency ranges—details that were largely absent in previous editions. Furthermore, the performance date has been corrected; it is now confirmed to be the 21st (or possibly the 22nd), rather than the 29th. This information is also supported by Paul Motian’s performance database. We have adopted the date identified by prominent international collectors who classify this as the opening night’s performance. (For reference, the November 29th date actually corresponds to a concert in Stavanger, Norway.) Listeners can enjoy tracks such as the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” and the show’s grand finale—Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay”—which is arguably the highlight of the entire performance.
