We are proud to present a highly coveted live recording—a “must-have” for fans—captured in superb quality by an enthusiast at Zellerbach Hall on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley. This performance took place on October 4, 2013, the day before the final show of the world tour, and includes two encores. To recap the 2013 world tour: it began with Keith’s solo performances in Dublin (Feb. 21) and London’s Royal Festival Hall (Feb. 25)—both available at our shop—followed by a series of trio concerts spanning from the Japan tour (starting May 6) to the final show at Carnegie Hall in New York (Dec. 11), totaling 17 trio performances. The Berkeley concert released here is the first recording to emerge from the U.S. leg of the tour—which consisted of only four shows—making it a rare document from the penultimate day of the entire world tour. The concert begins following a venue announcement and a brief introductory remark from Keith. The setlist is excellent, and while the sound is slightly delicate in texture, the quality is high enough to satisfy even the most discerning collectors of audience recordings. As this Berkeley performance marks the final live recording of Keith’s Standards Trio, it stands as a new masterpiece of “cultural heritage” status that simply cannot be missed.
