Description

This is a four-disc live DVD collection capturing the powerful performances of The Iron Maidens, the world’s premier all-female Iron Maiden tribute band. Centered on concerts held in the US and Europe between 2014 and 2016, the collection features a wide-ranging repertoire that spans from signature hits to rare tracks. It offers a spectacular viewing experience, perfectly blending masterful musicianship—demonstrating deep respect for Iron Maiden’s work—with the glamorous stage presence unique to an all-female group. In addition to staples like “Aces High,” “The Trooper,” “Run to the Hills,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” and “The Number of the Beast,” they perform fan favorites such as “Infinite Dreams,” “Flash of the Blade,” and “Alexander the Great.” The setlist also showcases the band’s versatility, including performances featuring songs by Lita Ford. With a total runtime of approximately 366 minutes, this is a definitive live collection—recommended not only for fans of The Iron Maidens but also for Iron Maiden fans—that allows you to enjoy performances from various eras all in one package. *Detailed disc contents follow below. Disc 1: Live at the Yast Theater (November 19, 2016) – Approx. 81 min. First, a note on The Iron Maidens: while they are an all-female band, they have a well-established reputation for high-level musicianship and currently enjoy great success touring the US, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The show opens with the intro to “Aces High”—arguably one of the greatest opening numbers in heavy metal history—before immediately launching into “The Trooper.” Vocalist Kirsten Rosenberg delivers a powerful performance; far from feeling out of place, her vocals actually hit higher notes than the original (naturally), making them arguably easier on the ears. Your eyes are inevitably drawn to the busty guitarist Courtney Cox, while bassist Wanda Ortiz delivers a performance that rivals Steve Harris himself. Of course, they aren’t the real thing, but the audience is thoroughly satisfied and excited by the visuals, looks, and musicianship on display. Next up is Lita Ford. A pioneer among female hard rockers, she debuted as the guitarist for The Runaways and later achieved success as a solo artist. Her classic melodic arena rock/hard rock sound remains as strong as ever. Total runtime: 80 minutes. Live At The Yost Theater, Santa Ana (Nov 19, 2016) | THE IRON MAIDENS: Aces High, The Trooper, Wasted Years, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Killers, Run To The Hills | LITA FORD: Gotta Let Go, Can’t Catch Me, Cherry Bomb, Black Leather, Close My Eyes Forever, Kiss Me Deadly | Lineup: Kirsten Rosenberg (Vocals), Courtney Cox (Guitar), Nikki Stringfield (Guitar), Wanda Ortiz (Bass & Vocals), Linda McDonald (Drums & Vocals). Disc 2: Zoetermeer, Netherlands (2015) – Approx. 105 minutes. A 2015 Dutch performance by The Iron Maidens, the world’s premier tribute band—officially recognized by the original group. The venue is “Cultural Podium Boerderij” in the city of Zoetermeer, about an hour’s drive from the capital, Amsterdam. When “Doctor Doctor”—a staple at actual Iron Maiden concerts—plays over the speakers, the crowd joins in a massive sing-along. Then, after a brief interlude featuring a snippet from “Natural Born Killers,” a familiar speech plays as the band takes the stage; as Churchill’s “We shall never surrender!” speech concludes, the intro to “Aces High” kicks in. It is one of the greatest show openings in the heavy metal world. They launch immediately into “Die With Your Boots On” without missing a beat. Although the PA balance isn’t perfect, the vocals of Kirsten Rosenberg—known as “Bruce Chickinson”—are powerful and soaring, truly reminiscent of the original Bruce, and she effectively commands the audience. Total runtime: 100 minutes. Live at Zoetermeer, Netherlands (2015) – Disc 3. Setlist: 01. Intro (Doctor, Doctor) 02. Aces High 03. Die With Your Boots On 04. Flight of Icarus 05. Revelations 06. 22 Acacia Avenue 07. The Trooper 08. The Duellists 09. Wasted Years 10. Flash of the Blade 11. Alexander the Great 12. The Number of the Beast 13. Phantom of the Opera 14. Fear of the Dark 15. Band Introduction 16. Hallowed Be Thy Name 17. Run to the Hills 18. Outro (Bright Side of Life). Approx. 105 minutes. The latest live release from The Iron Maidens has arrived! This is a high-quality audience-shot recording captured from near the front row on the stage-left side—the position of the band’s newest guitarist, Nikki Stringfield. Since it was the Christmas season, drummer Linda wears a Santa hat, and vocalist Kirsten makes a spirited entrance sporting a cute pair of reindeer antlers! Amidst the excitement of classic Maiden hits, Nita Strauss—who took over the touring guitarist role for Alice Cooper from Orianthi—makes her highly anticipated entrance starting with “The Trooper”! The crowd’s roar reaches a fever pitch, marking the highlight of the show! The band then tears through the rest of the set with a triple-guitar lineup. This excellent release features rare tracks like “The Duellists” and “Flash of the Blade”—hidden gems from the *Powerslave* album that the original Iron Maiden rarely performs live! Includes menu chapters; total runtime is 90 minutes. Intro (Doctor, Doctor) / Aces High / Die With Your Boots On / Flight Of Icarus / Revelations / 22 Acacia Avenue / The Trooper / The Duellists / Flash Of The Blade / Alexander The Great / The Number Of The Beast / Phantom Of The Opera / Fear Of The Dark / Hallowed Be Thy Name / Run To The Hills. Disc 4: Paladinos, Tarzana, California (December 20, 2014) – Approx. 90 minutes. The latest 2014 live performance from The Iron Maidens—the officially recognized Iron Maiden tribute band—has arrived! This time, the footage is shot from the left side of the stage, right in front of Nita Strauss (aka “Mega Murray”)! It’s insane! Her boobs look huge today, too—like she’s got two melons in there! Just as I was checking the “growth status” of those melons, I heard Churchill’s famous speech. And then, of course, the first song is “Aces High”! Tons of dry ice are blasting up—looks freezing! Kristen looks so cool singing the chorus parts without any vocal embellishments—parts where Bruce Dickinson often improvises his phrasing. They play “Infinite Dreams” (a personal favorite), the close-up shots put you right next to the stage, and two versions of Eddie make an appearance. Maidens fans—and especially Nita fans—you’ve got to check this out! Features a menu/chapter selection; total runtime is 90 minutes. The Viper Room, West Hollywood, CA (January 18, 2014): Aces High / Die With Your Boots On / Infinite Dreams / Wasted Years / Genghis Khan / The Trooper / Only The Good Die Young / The Number Of The Beast / 22 Acacia Avenue / Rime Of The Ancient Mariner / Fear Of The Dark / Phantom Of The Opera / Hallowed Be Thy Name.
