Description

Yo Miles is the ultimate project created to recreate and further develop the experimental music of the one and only Miles Music from the “Agapan” period, from “On the Corner” that was highly praised by the late Yasuki Nakayama! This is the most intense and culminating, most brutal live show ever! ! Listen! Henry Kaiser is a famous guitarist from the United States who is known for his experimental music and improvisation, along with Bill Frisell, Fred Frith, and Derek Bailey, and is highly acclaimed in the jazz world. A legendary project formed mainly by the avant-garde trumpet player Wadada Leo Smith, who performed and further developed songs from Miles Davis’s most flexible “On the Corner” to “Agapan” period. Yo Miles! A monster item has arrived that includes a complete 3-hour recording of the spectacular live performance held at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California on October 14, 2001 by those involved in the highest quality sound! ! This project focuses on the passionate funk grooves and avant-garde improvisations of Miles’s most legendary era, and is a big fan of Miles and the project’s initiator, Pete Cosey of Henley. While following Miles’s sharp trumpet tones with a dynamic guitar full of a deep-blue funk spirit, the band is centered around the two band members who lead the band with their own free improvisations, playing the songs that Miles fans want to hear the most. In addition, this project is not a fixed band other than Henry and Wadada, but has the form of an “all-star team” that gathers many talented musicians for each album and live performance. On this day, on stage, they participated in all of the band’s albums and accurately played the complex and intense bass lines, ensuring that the band did not fall apart. Michael Manring, the genius bassist who brought the group together and continued to support the foundation of the band; Steve Smith, who was said to have been fired from the rock band Journey because he was too good at it; his transcendental technique, which allows him to play everything from jazz to rock, gives the band tremendous driving force; Santana is at his peak, regaining their early enthusiasm. From the mid-1970s onwards, Tom Coster was a keyboard player who supported Carlos as his right-hand man and brought a variety of emotions to the band. Carl Perazzo, another active member of Santana at the time, brought the heat and dynamism of being in a jungle to the music with his fine percussion sounds, and others, as well as his wah-wah sound reminiscent of Reggie Lucas. – Top-class players such as Sherry, a side guitar player with a very pleasant cutting, Steve Adams, a tenor player, and Andy West, a guest bassist, recreate the funk rhythm that was the life of Miles in the 1970s, improvise and extend Miles’ famous songs, and have a hot and intense session! ! At the end, Wadada and Coster performed “Happy Birthday” for a grand finale. A tribute that goes beyond the 70’s Miles tribute that everyone loves, just like the original Miles, I wonder if a band like this will ever come out again… Henry Kaiser and Wadada Leo Smith’s Yo Miles!
