This rare recording captures a live performance held on July 25, 1982, in an amusement park in Karlshamn, Sweden, just a few days before the release of their third album, “Self Destruction Blues,” and immediately after the band’s drummer changed from Zip Casino to Razzle. Remastered from a low-generation master, the sound image is somewhat rough and not exactly high-fidelity, but it is fairly good and stable for something of that era. There are some parts where the vocals are difficult to hear, but there is no noise and the sound quality is stable. This is a live performance held immediately after the change in drummer from Zip Casino to Razzle, and although only “Taxi Driver” was selected from the then-new album “Self Destruction Blues,” this performance features a rare, much slower arrangement. The setlist mainly consisted of songs from their first and second albums, such as “Don’t You Ever Leave Me” and “Oriental Beat,” but you also won’t want to miss the Stooges’ “1970,” the MC5’s “Looking At You” as the finale, and the rare number “In The Year ’79 (It’s Too Late),” written around 1979 before the band was formed.
