Description
A previously unreleased recording of a London concert held at the time of the release of their third album, “Self Destruction Blues,” has been newly remastered! This previously unreleased recording captures a live performance held on October 31, 1982, shortly after the release of their third album, “Self Destruction Blues,” at the Lyceum Ballroom in Westminster, London, which has a capacity of approximately 2100 people. The recording was captured in excellent stereo audience quality! Remastered from a low-generation master, the sound image is somewhat rough, but each part, including the vocals, is well-balanced, and the recording captures the powerful sound of the floor with Andy & Nasty’s guitars resonating loudly. Furthermore, the significant pitch and positional discrepancies caused by the master have been carefully corrected. This live performance took place shortly after the band replaced drummer Zip Casino with Razzle. With Razzle on drums and Michael on vocals and harmonica, the show opened with Slim Harpo’s “Shake Your Hips,” also known for its Rolling Stones cover. Only “Taxi Driver” was selected from their then-new album, “Self Destruction Blues,” and the setlist mainly consisted of songs from their first and second albums, such as “Don’t You Ever Leave Me” and “Oriental Beat,” before closing with a cover of The Stooges’ “1970”! And don’t miss their performance of “Malibu Beach Nightmare,” which was included on the first album on which Razzle played drums and was released as a single on “BACK TO THE MYSTERY CITY” the following year!
