This 2-hour and 8-minute recording captures the sixth of seven consecutive shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 24th, part of the UK leg of their 2013 50th anniversary tour, using excellent audience footage recently released by the owner. The wide shots, taken from a camera slightly to the left of the stage, capture the entire stage well, and the unobstructed view allows viewers to enjoy the band’s performance to the very end. This year was a very energetic one for the band, with appearances in America and Europe, including at festivals such as the Crossroads Guitar Festival. While the setlist varied considerably from place to place, the opening number was “Hello Old Friend,” a song not played since their 1976 tour, and they also played “Gotta Get Over” from their then-released album ‘OLD SOCK’. They also performed “Come Rain Or Come Shine” from their 2000 album ‘RIDING WITH THE KING’. This night marked the band’s first live performance of this song, and the setlist, fitting for their 50th anniversary, mainly consisted of their signature tracks, including a fiery solo in “Got To Get Better In A Little While” from their Dominos days. They also played the rare “Blues Power” followed by “Love in Vain,” and for the encore, they performed “Sunshine Of Your Love,” with Gary Clark Jr. making a surprise appearance, which really got the crowd going.
