Dire Straits/Norway 07.30.1992 DAT Soundboard Edition

This album features a nearly complete 1 hour and 53 minute recording of the July 30th Oslo, Norway performance from the Euro leg of the 1992 “ON EVERY STREET Tour,” which ultimately became their final world tour. The recording is based on a DAT soundboard source leaked by someone involved at the time. While parts of this recording had been circulating in the past, the release of a separate DAT tape, leaked by the road manager at the time, allowed for the creation of an official-level live album by combining and editing these two sources using the latest equipment. Although an official live album, “ON THE NIGHT,” also exists from the same tour, this album boasts more natural echo effects and a rawer live sound. Furthermore, three tracks, “The Bug,” “Solid Rock,” and “Wild Theme (Local Hero),” can only be heard here, which is a major plus. The setlist, centered around four songs from “ON EVERY STREET,” is truly a culmination of their best performances, and as a live album far more realistic than any edited official release, it’s a must-have for fans.
