Description

This is a DVD containing professional shots of the second day at Tokyo Dome, “May 16, 1990,” from the Greatest Hits Tour “SOUND + VISION TOUR 1990,” which plays all the big hits at once. This live performance is a famous video that was broadcast on TV by a certain public broadcaster, but this work is different from the approximately 90-minute TV broadcast, and was recorded in real time at Tokyo Dome, where the live performance was being held. As such, it is a full-length version of approximately 2 hours that completely records the 5 songs that were cut from the broadcast, “Fashion, Stay,” “Station To Station,” “Panic In Detroit,” and “Pretty Pink Rose,” scenes between songs, and even the scene at the venue after the show. It is the same as the TV broadcast version that the opening “Space Oddity” starts before the chorus, but after that, it is a perfect professional shot of the entire concert without leaking even the playful MC. The recording time alone is amazing, but what’s even more surprising is the quality. Since it is recorded in real time on-site, the image and sound quality goes beyond a simple air check. Although some of the angles are the same as the TV broadcast, the editing, camera work, and even the audio mix are different. It is an absolutely amazing professional shot. In fact, it was so shocking when it first appeared, that specialized magazines gave it rave reviews, saying, “Surprisingly, the image quality is so high that you’d think it was recorded directly from the broadcast master,” “The video and audio are so solid that it would be no exaggeration to say that they are completely official,” “It truly lives up to its name as a complete work,” and “This is sure to become a standard in the future.” This work is a further digital mastering of that amazing master. We have created the ultimate version with a screen that makes the outline of the person stand out more clearly and clearer audio. This version has been very popular as the press DVD “COMPLETE VISION IN DOME” for a long time, but of course there is no way anything that exceeds real-time recording on the spot will come out, and it continues to reign as the highest peak in 1990. The hit parade projected with that quality is truly gorgeous. The big hit songs of each era pop out one after another, and the performers, led by the famous Adrian Belew, are also amazing. This is a huge hit concert that is not only skillful, but also features arrangements that do not destroy the original song. There were two performances at Tokyo Dome, but Bowie was not feeling well on the first day, and the performance ended with “Heroes”. On the second day, there will be a TV recording, and you can clearly feel the spirit of the event, which is about getting rid of the stigma from the previous day. After that, Bowie no longer held stadium-scale concerts, so this is one where you can fully see the final appearance of filling the largest scale venue with hit songs in the highest quality ever. A long-awaited high-quality title that is almost completely recorded from the Tokyo Dome 2 performance held in May 1990 to the May 16th performance with multi-camera professional shot footage for about 2 hours is now available. This day’s performance was later broadcast on TV as a 1 hour and 30 minute special program, and it was a standard title among fans, but this version uses a different master from that TV broadcast version, and the editing, camera angle, and audio mix are completely different. Furthermore, it includes 5 songs that were omitted from the TV broadcast (Fashion, Stay, Station To Station, Panic In Detroit, Pretty Pink Rose), and also includes realistic recordings of the time between songs and the inside of the venue after the show. It was a live performance that was held with the concept of Bowie himself sealing his past masterpieces with this tour, and the parade of representative songs and hit songs is worth listening to and worth seeing throughout.
