Following the success of last year’s stunning “JONES BEACH 2025,” which allowed listeners to enjoy Dylan’s live performances with a soundboard-like feel, enthusiasts continued to use apps to record audio recordings of Dylan’s live shows during his fall European tour. This time, two dates in Glasgow in November were captured with truly stunning sound quality. While Dylan’s audio recordings were made using the latest app technology, they were not without their issues. The Wi-Fi environment at the concert venue can be easily affected. This can result in momentary audio dropouts or the inclusion of reception noise, leaving room for improvement. In this respect, “JONES BEACH 2025” was miraculously released thanks to the flawless recording of the live performance, free of any such issues. During the Glasgow concert, slight reception issues were evident on the first day, including “False Prophet,” “My Own Version of You,” and “Watching the River Flow.” However, the sound quality remained flawless. It’s amazing how clear and realistic a recording of a Dylan live performance can be via an app. While “JONES BEACH 2025” was a short festival set, this one is a full 100-minute concert. Even more noteworthy is the complete change in the setlist from the summer in the US. In Europe, the opening song, “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight,” followed by “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” highlights the pop arrangements at the beginning of the show. Also noteworthy is the tasteful Showa-era pop arrangement of “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” which returned for the first time since 2024. However, the song that’s generating the most buzz in Europe this time around is the return of “My Own Version of You,” a song that was dropped after last spring’s tour. Dylan led the band with such high energy that it’s no wonder it’s being performed again… It was a powerful performance. Above all, Dylan was full of energy throughout the entire concert, and I was still overwhelmed by his light and nimble movements on stage. Plus, thanks to the extremely clear sound quality of the soundboard, you can really enjoy Dylan’s energetic singing.
