A new 2-disc special Blu-ray edition of “The Beatles ’64” has been released, combining a newly edited documentary and live footage capturing The Beatles’ historic first landing in America in February 1964! Disc 1 contains the complete “The Beatles ’64” documentary, newly edited and released in 2024, the 60th anniversary of their first landing in America. From the moment they landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport on February 7, 1964, to the press conference, interviews, photo shoots, highlights from The Ed Sullivan Show and the Washington Coliseum performance, and various interviews reflecting on that time, this is a must-see documentary with new editing. Optional features include stereo/5.1 surround sound and the ability to switch between English and Japanese subtitles. In addition, bonus material such as newly edited videos and trailers are also included. Disc 2 contains the complete recording of the Ed Sullivan Show studio live performances, including rehearsals in Miami, which were broadcast nationwide in three parts in February 1964 as “Live Performance.” Furthermore, the historic first concert, the February 11th Washington Coliseum performance, has been restored and restored on Blu-ray, with the original mono audio from the film demixed and remastered in stereo, and the video itself upconverted.
