Beatles Anthology Extra 30th Anniversary Edition

The Beatles Anthology, the culmination of the Beatles’ history from their origins to their breakup, traces the greatest musical legacy of the 20th century through precious sound sources. This 30th Anniversary Edition Anthology 3: Anniversary Edition adds the latest remixes and newly discovered tracks, and is a newly edited, expanded, and revised version with all tracks remastered. This Anthology Extra 30th Anniversary Edition includes only tracks not included in the Anthology 1-3 series, and not only does it include tracks not included in the highly anticipated official Anthology 4, it also features 89 tracks of newly edited, expanded, and revised material, primarily consisting of outtakes and demos recently discovered. As with previous installments in the series, the sound quality is improved compared to the originals, and it also features more uncut editing and AI-edited demixes converted from mono to real stereo. This is an unmissable “extra” edition based on new sound sources, including newly discovered and previously unreleased tracks, all remastered. The album is basically arranged chronologically, starting with five demo tracks of original compositions, not covers, recorded at Paul’s home in 1960. This is a historical record that shows Paul was already composing music almost daily at that time, as he mentioned in the film “Let It Be.” The 1962 Hamburg Star-Club live performance, after Ringo joined the band, is included in a newly restored stereo demix. The setlist includes familiar Beatles numbers from later live repertoire as well as original and cover versions, allowing listeners to hear the differences. The following three demo tracks from 1963 are newly unearthed recordings that had been rumored to exist at auction, and include demos of “Misery” from the Cavern Club, complete versions of “Love of the Loved” and “What Goes On,” and the longest version of “If I Fell.” Many of the other studio outtakes have also been converted from their original mono to stereo demixes, and the order and editing of the songs have also been changed. Familiar outtakes have been updated in recent years, and it is noteworthy that a selection of tracks not included in the official box set have been carefully chosen. The three new songs added as part of the Anthology Project, “Free as a Bird,” “Real Love,” and “Now and Then,” are included in completely restored remix versions, which differ from the official mix that caused controversy. Of course, these are newly released original remixes that are different from those included in this anniversary series. Incidentally, the jacket uses a pre-completion prototype and rough design with a slightly different image from the original.
