Description

This work contains the official footage of the performance at Nakano Sun Plaza on January 24, 1985, entitled “CHASING YNGWIE”. Of course, the footage from that day has already been officially released as “LIVE IN TOKYO ’85”, but this work is something completely different. This is a super version in which Yngwie’s early hands, which were said to be at the speed of light, explode with the highest quality ever. Since I’m introducing this title, I have no choice but to talk about that dreaded official DVD. In the first place, two types of pro shots were produced from the beginning on this day. One was the regular “Yngwie version”, and the other was the “general version”. The first one produced was the “Yngwie version”, which was a masterpiece video with plenty of angles of the hands suitable for a guitar revolutionary. However, seeing the growing popularity here, the record company’s superiors ordered, “Make another version for the general public, not just for guitar players.” The person in charge, who had already used up all the good shots, was racking his brains and had to create a different video, the “regular version,” using image effects (that stupid pencil-shaped swaying effect). But then things took a turn, and this time the higher-ups said, “Let’s just have one,” and they released the “regular version.” Of course, this was met with a storm of criticism. Five years later, in 1990, at the height of Yngwie’s popularity, the original “Yngwie version” was finally released as “CHASING YNGWIE.” The mistake had finally been corrected. This was a terrible story in itself, but the tragedy continued. In 2006, the official DVD was released, but the one used for it was the super-cheap “regular version.” Record companies have been stupid for a long time, but the tragedy has been repeated. And the worst thing is that the correct “CHASING YNGWIE” has never been digitized and is still out of print. If the highest quality official who has exhausted all means does not correct the mistake, someone must correct it. The final answer is this work. It is the highest quality version of the correct “CHASING YNGWIE” in history. Of course, various DVDRs have been circulated for many years because of the masterpiece video, but most of them are poor quality products that are VHS-rendered. In contrast, the source of this work is a Japanese laser disc, which was said to be the highest quality at the time. Moreover, it was digitized by a foreign analog video specialist manufacturer using a mint quality board with no scratches or deterioration. In the first place, laser discs have a higher resolution than VHS in terms of specifications, and unlike magnetic tape, they are resistant to deterioration over time. Moreover, the high-end environment of a specialized manufacturer maximizes its potential. The beauty of the image is truly the ultimate. The red lighting that was blurred on VHS and Beta is clear, and there is no physical distortion or noise. Furthermore, the sound is overwhelming, and the sound’s clarity, separation, and transparency are incomparable to many previously released works. No, it’s not just the previously released ones. Now that 35 years have passed since the filming, it is probably impossible to expect such freshness even from the master tapes sleeping in the record company’s warehouse. It is truly the best quality ever, the strongest on earth. I will avoid the set and the sharp performance of the “live version of MARCHING OUT” as it overlaps with the commentary of the main story, but the video is still more persuasive. Of course, there are some parts that differ from the true live performance due to overdubs, but even that leads to the perfection of the work. The songs, sound, performance, and video…every aspect is superb. No matter how many masterpieces Yngwie has, the only works that have been perfected to this extent are “TRILOGY” and this work. It is a video that teaches us the “other side” of the 2CD, but more than that, this work itself is the ultimate masterpiece in Yngwie’s career. It is an absolute video of a completely different dimension from the official DVD, which became a failure due to adult circumstances. This is the highest quality version in history. This time, a disc with a newly created original menu. Live at Nakano Sun Plaza, Tokyo, Japan 24th January 1985 PRO-SHOT Taken from the original Japanese laser disc(POLV-1703) (84:49) 1. Pre-Show 2.
