Description
In 1996, Yngwie Malmsteen brought back the all-time strongest singer: Mark Boals and carried out a special tour. Two shock masters that allow you to experience the scene at its finest have been unearthed at the same time! Three new masters of Yngwie, unearthed through our own route, will be released at the same time, but there are two records of the “INSPIRATION Tour” sung by Mark. This work is a super-class audience recording of the first installment, “November 10, 1996 Malmö performance (Sweden)”. Since his solo debut in 1984, Yngwie has continued his creative activities smoothly, but in the late 1990s he challenged himself with exceptional conceptual works such as the cover album “INSPIRATION” and the orchestra collaboration work “New Century”. He also organized a special tour and showed us a “different Yngwie than usual” with a lot of cover songs. First, let’s look back on his journey and check the position of the show.・August 5-11: South America (6 shows)・August 16: Old Bridge show・September 14-October 7: North America (5 shows)《Inspiration released on September 20 (Sun)/October 14 (US)》・November 2-7: Japan (5 shows)・November 10-28: Europe (16 shows)←★here★・November 29: London show・November 30: Fender 50th Anniversary Concert・December 4-6: UK (3 shows)・December 23-26: Asia (4 shows)This is Yngwie Malmsteen in 1996. At that time, North America was dominated by grunge/alternative music, so there were hardly any live shows, and because Inspiration was a cover album, there were few shows in Japan. As a result, his main battlefield had completely shifted to Europe. The Malmö performance of this work is the first day of such a main leg “Europe”. It was a concert in his home country Sweden immediately after the performance in Japan. This work recorded at such a show is a superb sound that will blow your mind when you listen to it. Anyway, it is ferociously on and zero distance. If you listen carefully with headphones, you can tell that it is the audience because there is a (slight) sense of space in the sound of the snare, but the clarity and the feeling of not having arrived are like a sound board. I don’t want to express it as a regular customer only, but the expression that comes to mind the most is “It’s like the work of Mr. Strongest Taper in Western Japan”. Of course, I can’t imagine that Mr. Strongest recorded in Northern Europe in the 1990s, but the characteristics of the sound are just like that. Rather, it is so similar to that master sound that I think “It can’t be the “strongest” collection that Yngwie and Mark are so youthful”. I got a little too carried away. For those who are wondering “Who is Mr. Strongest?”, I would say “It’s like a sound board” or “It’s like the latest recording in 2022”. Anyway, I can’t imagine how they could have left this sound in the 90s… it’s such a superb sound. The super high-quality sound that overturns the common sense of history is a full show in which Yngwie, who entered the demodulator, and the strongest singer of all time spark off. It is slightly different from the sister work “TILBURG 1996” excavated at the same time, so let’s compare and organize it here. Originals (8 songs) Rising Force: Icarus’ Dream Suite Op.4/Far Beyond the Sun/Black Star Trilogy: Liar/Queen in Love/You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget Others: I’ll See the Light Tonight/Rising Force Covers (8 songs) Ritchie Blackmore: Child in Time/Pictures of Home/Gates of Babylon Jimi Hendrix: Red House/Manic Depression (★) Others: The Sails of Charon (SCORPIONS)/In the Dead of Night (U.K.)/Carry On Wayward Son (KANSAS) *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs that cannot be heard on the sister album “TILBURG 1996” released at the same time. …And so it is. It is very similar to the previous Japanese performance, but the song order is slightly different. The content is balanced with half super-concentrated best from “RISING FORCE” to “ODYSSEY” and half covers. Mark’s songs “Carry On Wayward Son”, “Pictures of Home” and “Gates of Babylon” are also great, but it’s the originals that warm my heart. The final two songs are “I’ll See the Light Tonight” and “Rising Force”. The Mark version of “I’ll See the Light Tonight” that was supposed to be heard at the 1986 visit to Japan, and the killer masterpiece “Rising Force” with its neo-classical degree are… Of course, it can’t be said to be extremely rare now, but it’s a different story if you can enjoy it with the superb sound of a barefoot soundboard. Yngwie’s collaboration with various singers like RAINBOW was also one of his charms, but still, I can’t help but think, “I wish Mark would be my eternal partner.” This is a shocking new excavation live album that allows you to fully experience such a miraculous combination with a superb sound. It sounds better than the recordings from the 1980s and is younger than the re-performed collaborations in the 2000s. This is a masterpiece of the “INSPIRATION Tour”. A super-class audience recording of “November 10, 1996 Malmö performance (Sweden)”. A newly excavated master brought by a unique route, it is just ferociously on and zero distance. The super-class direct feeling that goes “like a sound board” is superb even by the latest standards of 2022, and it is hard to imagine how this sound was realized in the 1990s. It is a shocking new masterpiece that will take the place of the fan’s eternal dream “Official Live Album Sung by Mark”.
