The final day of the Japan tour accompanying the third album “Trilogy” in 1986, the performance at Osaka Festival Hall on November 14th was recorded in full with an ultra-high quality audience recording. Using the master cassette of the recorder directly, the recording is of the highest level at the time, perfectly reproducing the young Yngwie’s playing. The vocals are by Jeff Scott Soto, who sings powerfully and with a very stable voice throughout the entire album. The keyboards and drums are played by the Johansson brothers, formerly of Silver Mountain, and the bass is played by Wally Boss only this time. The ideal selection of songs selected from the first three albums is a pleasure to listen to anywhere, and as mentioned above, the sound quality is incredibly excellent, so you can listen to it all at once. Yngwie’s guitar playing is truly magnificent, including his expressive high-speed solos, and the members who support him also perform at a superb level, making it a pleasure to listen to throughout the entire album. Since DEEP PURPLE recorded “LIVE IN JAPAN” at the same venue in 1972, they performed a perfect copy of HIGHWAY STAR at the end of the encore.
