Description
The latest “ALBUMS TOUR 2016” is a thrilling reenactment of “DRAMA”. Among them, a co-starring live with Trevor Horn, which was realized for the first time in 36 years, will appear. Today has only happened twice: in Oxford and in London. This work is an audience album that includes the “Oxford performance on May 9, 2016”. …Some of you may have read this far and thought, “Huh?”. The other day, “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND”, which is a coupling recording of this Oxford performance and the London performance, was just released. Of course, this work is not a variation on that. It is a different recording with a completely different taper. Another taper is a recordist who lives in England and delivers the latest British recordings to our store. He is known as the “usual master.” The master of this work is an original recording that arrived one step later than “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND”, but this is also a wonderful sound. Although the Oxford performance of “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND” was also excellent, it is hard to rate this one as well. This master brand is known for its “coexistence of the warmth and clarity of DAT recordings,” and its uniqueness and compatibility with YES Music are outstanding. The extremely thick and sharp-edged musical sound makes you want to call it “like a soundboard,” but the rich venue acoustics are too wonderful to call it that. The soft yet clear atmosphere is perfect for the chorus and symphonic rock that pours down from the heavens. This is what fills your heart with the majestic sound of a church organ. When it comes to audience recording, there is a tendency to prefer less reverberation, but it is only a substitute for a sound board. The sound of this work allows you to fully enjoy the “emotions and spectacle that can only be experienced by the audience.” It is a far more valuable sound than a recording that simply pursues a direct feeling. Recreating “DRAMA” with its moving sound, reuniting with Trevor, and “Time And A Word”, dedicated to the memory of Peter Banks and filled with a warm singing voice… How wonderful! I would like to make sure there is no misunderstanding here, but the Oxford performance of “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND” is also a wonderful recording and sound. If you ask me, “Which one is more amazing?”, I can’t say. That being said, it’s not even a similar recording. I can’t choose between the direct feeling of “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND” and the spectacle of this work. To be honest, I was really worried about how to introduce this work. Since this is an original recording, it will be buried in the darkness of history if it is not released. That’s all I can’t do. Since it is a separate recording of the same live performance as “DRAMA SHOWS IN ENGLAND”, I wonder if it will end up on the shelf of a limited number of collectors… Although it is a live performance that has already been released, it is a great original recording that is too unfortunate to be buried in the darkness of history. A touching film that conveys the encounter between YES and Trevor over 36 years. Please experience this beautiful and touching live album for yourself.
