Description

YES visited Japan for a special tour celebrating their 50th anniversary. The best original recording is now available. This work includes the “February 22, 2019: Tokyo Dome City Hall” performance. This is the best audience recording. We introduced the masterpiece live set “NAGOYA & AMAGASAKI 2019″ that includes the Western Japan version, but the long-awaited Tokyo version is finally here. It will also be released at the same time as “TOKYO 2019 2ND NIGHT”. First, organize your collection by date.・February 19th “NAGOYA & AMAGASAKI 2019” Disc 1-2 ・February 20th “NAGOYA & AMAGASAKI 2019” Disc 3-4 ・February 22nd: Tokyo Dome City Hall [This work] February 23rd “TOKYO 2019 2ND NIGHT” February 24th: Tokyo Dome City Hall This work is the first performance in Tokyo and the third performance in the middle of the whole. Following the Nagoya and Osaka concerts, the concert was filled with excitement as it perfectly recreated “Kisai”. This work that recorded such a show is truly the best audience recording. The other day’s “NAGOYA & AMAGASAKI 2019” was amazing, but this work is also amazing. What’s most wonderful is the crystal clear, sparkling atmosphere. It starts with real applause, so you won’t mistake it for a sound board, but when the performance starts, the on-core arrives straight, and the details are clearly clear. If you listen carefully with headphones, you can hear the venue’s acoustics slightly, but it doesn’t become cloudy or muddy. The treble extends beautifully, and the midrange has plenty of response. The output sound from the PA is picked up closely, and the very slight hall noise makes it even more beautiful. And the bass is also very clear, and the attack of the bass that roars is clearly defined one by one. It is a crystal clear recording that does not seem like a guest record, although it gives you a taste of the “sound pouring down” feeling that is unique to YES Music. What is depicted with that sound is a special 50th anniversary show centered around the famous album “Kirishi”. It’s the same set as Nagoya and Osaka, with the same two-part + encore format and guest participation. To summarize the points… ●Part 1 (Disc 1) Although it is a regular concert format, it is full of rare songs. “We Can Fly” and “Yours Is No Disgrace” have been performed since 2012, and there will also be plenty of rare songs such as “Parallels”, “Sweet Dreams”, “Nine Voices (Longwalker)” and “Madrigal”. Selected from various eras without being biased towards any album. Even if you deliberately exclude representative works and songs, it is full of masterpieces, both nostalgic and fresh. This is a set that shows how they have continued to write good songs. A particular highlight is the last masterpiece, “Yours Is No Disgrace.” Guest Tony Kaye appeared and the venue erupted into applause. It’s not like he’s going to perform a great solo, but this excitement is perfect for the upbeat song, and it’s a perfect mood for a break in the show. The stereo sound of the wah-wah guitar panning left and right is so powerful that you’ll forget the fact that it’s an audience recording. ●Second Part (Disc 2) The famous album “Kirishi” part. Reproduces the exact song order. The focus here is on Unamble, which has received great praise from many people. We held a reenactment show in 2014, but this time support drummer Jay Schellen was a big success. He started participating in YES in 2016 when Alan White temporarily withdrew due to surgery, and he still plays at most of their shows. He is a talented person with a background such as former HURRICANE, BADFINGER, ASIA, GPS, etc., and his ability is proven. Moreover, it has been three years since he participated, and his understanding of the songs and ability to play with the ensemble are impeccable. Alan is only a regular member, but his playing ability is the driving force behind their current popularity. “Crisis” with such Shellen is also wonderful in Tokyo. Boasting a skill and sense reminiscent of Bill Bruford, he also has the dynamism typical of rock. However, in the final “Siberian Khatru”, he gives the stool to Alan. ●Encore (Disc 2) The last three songs are “No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed,” “Roundabout,” and “Starship Trooper,” all of which have Tony in the festival mood. The highlight here is, of course, “No Opportunity Necessary,” which is being shown for the first time in Japan. Not only is it the first song in Japan, it is a song that has only been performed this year (for the first time in 49 years), and it is also an extremely rare song that has only been performed in Japan as “CRUISE TO THE EDGE”. Moreover, this is very good. Starting with the thrilling synth intro, the song quickly gets the audience involved. It seems that the audience was not as large as expected in advance, but the light beat and the enthusiastic applause generated excitement. It’s strange that I haven’t played it before, and it fits perfectly into the encore. And Alan also participated in “Roundabout” and “Starship Trooper.” There’s no way you can’t get excited about the special songs that appear here. The venue heated up with “No Opportunity Necessary” heated up even more, and a grand finale was reached. Tokyo 3DAYS all had different sets. Among them, this is a masterpiece live album that vacuum-packs the most popular “Crisis” reenactment night with the best sound. The first part is full of rare songs, a reenactment of “Kirishi” that shows off their current playing ability, and a great encore with a delicious guest performance. Please enjoy this show to the fullest as it is the 50th anniversary tour. Live at Tokyo Dome City Hall, Tokyo, Japan 22nd February 2019 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (48:33) 1.
