Description
Dan Lampinski’s live recording of “Tales of Topographical Oceans” is here for the first time! The Boston Garden performance on February 26th, midway through the 1974 North American tour, is recorded in full for 2 hours and 23 minutes with good sound quality. When it was uploaded to the Internet, it was slightly over-equalized to make the musical sounds stand out, just like the Queen’s Providence performance in April 1974, which was recorded at the same time, but this version has succeeded in reviving the natural feel and tone of the original sound, allowing you to concentrate on the performance without stress and in a very pleasant way. The freshness of the sound is wonderful, and each sound part is recorded clearly, which adds to the stability of the sound image, making it a perfect listen. There is no hiss noise. However, since there is a familiar master (Virtuoso’s “Alternate View”) recorded with even higher sound quality in this performance, this time it will be released under the gift title, but if it is a performance that first appeared, it is very good quality content that should also be considered for press CD. The high range that was difficult to hear in the online sound source is recorded in this board with a rich and ideal sound like something else. The lead sounds such as vocals, guitars, and synths are recorded clearly, and the way they jump out from the wide sound is overwhelming, and the 1974 Yes live tape recorded with such a good sound image is definitely a must-have for collectors. In the parts where the sound is dense, it seems to exceed the limits of the microphone, but in the parts with fewer sounds, it is recorded with a surprisingly vivid and clear sound. A spectacular document of the 1974 tour that made a far-reaching attempt to play three “Crisis” songs in the first half of the show and four “Topography of the Oceans” songs in the second half in the order of the album recordings. While listening to this incredible performance, Lampinski must have been pondering every day, “How can I record this wonderful stage with better sound?” The sound of this album, which captures the magnificent flood of Mellotron and the symphonic excitement with a fixed microphone, seems to convey the emotion of the recorder Lampinski. A must-have recording for fans, capturing Yes’s peak in 1974 with realistic sound. Live at Boston Garden, Boston, MA. USA 26th February 1974 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1 1. Firebird Suite 2.
