Description

The ultimate soundboard album that summarizes the golden 70’s is reprinted. This work is engraved with “October 28, 1978 London performance (evening session)”. Even in the “TORMATO TOUR” that celebrated the 10th anniversary of the formation of the golden five, it is an official stereo soundboard that pursues the highest peak in history. From this tour, official works such as “YESSHOWS” and “LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA” have been left, but frankly, this work is more than that. It is the ultimate live album that will also be “YESSONGS 2”. Before approaching the contents, let’s start with the position of the show. [1978] August 28-October 8: North America #1 (37 performances) “TORMATO” released on September 26th October 24-28: UK (6 performances) ←★Here★ [1979] April 9-May 8: North America #2 (27 performances) May 24-June 30: North America #3 (32 performances) This is the whole picture of “TORMATO TOUR 1978-1979”. It is almost entirely North American performances, with the exception of the “UK” tour. Six consecutive performances were held at Wembley Arena. Of these, the final day is included in this work. There were two performances on this day, and this was the last and final evening performance. This show was also broadcast on the radio, and its air check sound source has been a standard for a long time. This work is the highest peak of such a traditional sound board. This is the version of the famous program “FRIDAY ROCK SHOW” hosted by the late Tommy Vance, digitized from the finest broadcast master. The glossy sound board without any pitch deviation, twisting, or noise runs through the entire story, and it is a completely official sound that dismisses all conventional versions. In fact, when it first appeared as “DEFINITIVE TOURMATO”, it was highly praised by specialist magazines as “a work of incredible quality”, “originally wanted to be included in “Yes Shows” or “Live Years” as it is”, and “there are mountains of bootleg works released on this day, but this work is master quality”. This work is a reprint of the highest peak master. The latest mastering has been done again, but to be honest, you may not feel much difference. Although I tried to dig into the corners of the box, I couldn’t do anything about it… it is such a perfect stereo sound board. The show depicted with that quality is also extremely wonderful. From the beginning, the nostalgic DJ of Tommy Vance sets the mood, but then the masterpieces that have led the progressive scene for 10 years are played in one go. The TORMATO numbers such as “Circus Of Heaven” and “On The Silent Wings Of Freedom” that can’t be heard on “YESSHOWS” and the masterpiece “Awaken” are also delicious, but the highlight is the special medley for the 10th anniversary called “THE BIG MEDLEY”. Starting with “Time And A Word”, the masterpieces are connected to each other, such as “Long Distance Runaround”, “The Fish”, “Survival”, “Perpetual Change”, “The Gates Of Delirium”, and “Soon”, and it is like a big suite that depicts “10 years of YES” for about 27 minutes. And it’s good to run through the full show while mixing such masterpieces. Unlike “YESSHOWS”, which was a compilation of various shows, it is also different from “LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA”, which is less than an hour long. The feeling of being immersed in the show for about two hours is wonderful. Moreover, the performance, which is essential, is also in top form. To be honest, there were some shows in the six consecutive performances at Wembley Arena that were not so good, but this work is the final performance in the home country, or maybe because it was broadcast, the spirit and tension are enough. After this show, they toured North America the following year, and John Anderson left. YES will move on to “DRAMA”. In other words, this work was also the last concert of the 1970s in the home country of the UK. This is a super masterpiece sound board that contains the culmination of the big one with the highest official quality. It is a super masterpiece that will be one of the top five in the entire history of YES, beyond the distinction between official and unofficial, and is the ultimate live album that should be called “YESSONGS 2”. Its highest peak in history. Live at Wembley Arena, London, UK 28th October 1978 Evening Show STEREO SBD Broadcast on the BBC Friday Rock Show Disc 1(55:51) 01. Introduction by Tommy Vance 02.
