Description
The Japan tour of “YES Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman (hereinafter “YES ft.ARW”)” ended with great acclaim. This week, the albums “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” and “LIVE IN AMAGASAKI 2017” will be released, but a superb live album that goes even further than the original gift is now available. This album contains the performance at Orchard Hall on April 19, 2017. Let’s check the tour dates to organize the “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” tour.・April 17: Orchard “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・April 18: Orchard “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・April 19: Orchard “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” & [This work] ・April 21: Archaic Hall “LIVE IN AMAGASAKI 2017” ・April 22: Hiroshima Club Quattro ・April 24: Nagoya Village Hall A total of six performances. This work is an audience album that contains the third and final day of the three-day “Orchard Hall”. You may be hearing voices such as “Is it recorded on the same day?” and “It’s a shabby gift…”, but that’s not the case. The quality is a superb recording that may even surpass “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017”. Currently, masters are arriving one after another from famous recording artists for each performance. Although “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” uses a master that has gone through careful selection, the final deciding factor was the total concept of “a showdown with the original YES” (please refer to the commentary for details). The master of this work is a famous recording that competed until the end, and it can be said that this work is better only for “April 19”. Since the reports are still continuing at this moment, I cannot say that “this is the final answer”, but at the moment, it is the best sound in all performances. It even exceeds “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” … I think you can understand this. In fact, the quality of this work is “like a sound board”. It is clear down to each instrument and each note, and the balance is wonderful. The contrast between the sparkling mid-high range and the rich deep bass is also beautiful, the mid-high range approaches with a vivid edge like a laser beam, and the heavy bass roars as if shaking the venue itself from the feet. There is no slander at all. The show drawn with that quality is truly wonderful. YES ft.ARW toured Israel/Europe in March 2017, but took a short break before their Japan tour. The Japan tour was held after a three-week break. Of course, veteran members can’t get dull in just three weeks, but on the first day, there was a sense of stiffness, or rather, a “long-awaited feeling”. However, in this work, they are in good shape in a stable environment of “same venue x 3 days”. Of course, each show has its merits and demerits, but overall, they are performing a masterpiece that can be called “Tokyo No. 1”. Following the original YES in November last year, YES ft.ARW excited Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. I would like to recommend “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” for the flash report, but the monster size of 6 discs may be too heavy… This is a two-disc superb live album that even those who are interested can enjoy it casually.
