Description
The fastest live album from the renamed “YES Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman (hereafter “YES ft. ARW”)” has arrived! This week, “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” was released, which was a 3-day Tokyo performance, but that was all that was scheduled for this week. However, the first information about the regional performances was sent in just before the deadline. It has been decided to release it as soon as possible!! First, let’s check the tour schedule to get a sense of just how fast it is. ・April 17th: Orchard Hall “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・April 18th: Orchard Hall “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・April 19th: Orchard Hall “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・April 21st: Amashin Archaic Hall [this album] ・April 22nd: Hiroshima Club Quattro ・April 24th: Nagoya Village Hall Thus, this Japan tour will have a total of six performances. This work is the audience album of the fourth performance, “April 21, 2017: Amashin Archaic Hall”. You are probably reading this rubbish the day after the final Nagoya performance, but this is a live album only four days before that. Of course, even if it slips in, if it is a bad sound or a loud sound, it will just be brilliantly passed through. However, what came out of the master given to me by the recordist himself is a masterpiece sound that I want to deliver to everyone as soon as possible, even if it is urgent and rushed. The recording of Western Japan is supposed to arrive soon, so it can’t be said that “this work is the best”, but it’s not surprising that it will be. It’s an exquisite sound. Although the type is slightly different from “just like a sound board”, the musical sound that jumps in straight like a laser beam is thick and thick if it is thick. The details are wonderful and reject poor line recording. On top of that, the feeling of pouring that is unique to the audience is beautiful, and it is exactly “the sound for recording YES music”. The wonderfulness of YES ft. ARW depicted by that sound! The Tokyo performance was also a great show, but the way the ensemble has become more experienced is amazing. In particular, this time, the bass player was suddenly changed to Ian Hornall just before coming to Japan. Although he is a member of 10CC and recent tours of JEFF LYNNE’S ELO, he has plenty of talent, but this is his first time playing YES music. He seems to be steadily getting used to it with each performance. It’s not that they were relieved by Ian, but there was an unexpected guitar mistake in “Heart Of The Sunrise”. I don’t know if it was Billy or Rabin, but the composition was wrong and the performance was confused. Of course, they quickly recovered, but it was a rare mistake for the ironclad ARW. In addition to the main concert, this work also includes delicious bonus tracks. This is a public sound check on the same day, experienced by the same recordist as the main concert with a VIP package. Although it was a check, it wasn’t just a little tinkering with the instruments, but all the members played “Rhythm Of Love” and “Cinema” in full. They even performed a jam. In a normal sound check, a sloppy performance is the default, but here, even though the number of fans was limited, they were in front of fans. The performance was surprisingly solid, almost like a studio live. The lack of enthusiasm from the large crowd helped to enjoy the clear sound of a soundboard. I don’t know what kind of recordings will come out from now on, but this is probably the only live album that has a superb sound check. In any case, this is the fastest “sound report”. Despite this, it is a super-value album that includes superb sound and a valuable public sound check. This is the perfect one to fully enjoy the “now” when “Two YES” came to Japan one after another.
