Description

The masterpiece of “YES Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman (hereinafter “YES ft. ARW”)” is here. This work contains the performance of “April 21, 2017: Amashin Archaic Hall”. This is the audience album. We recently introduced the 6CD “TOKYO 2017” from the Tokyo performance, and this week the final album “NAGOYA 2017” from the Nagoya performance will be released at the same time. First of all, let’s organize the position by schedule.・April 17: Orchard Hall “TOKYO 2017” ・April 18: Orchard Hall “TOKYO 2017” ・April 19: Orchard Hall “TOKYO 2017” ・April 21: Amashin Archaic Hall [This work] ・April 22: Hiroshima Club Quattro ・April 24: Nagoya Civic Hall “NAGOYA 2017” In this way, all performances except Hiroshima from this Japan tour have appeared as live albums. This work is the fourth performance, but… it’s not about that. What is “not about that” is the strange sound. Although I wrote “masterpiece” at the beginning, this work is not the best recording of the Amagasaki performance, nor the peak of the Japanese performance. It is the masterpiece of YES ft. ARW, which started in October 2016. Although they have already performed over 50 world tours and have received recordings from all over the world, there is no better live album than this one. This is a tremendous one that will reign at the top of this project unless it is released as an official work in the future. In fact, the sound of this work is an unusually high-quality recording that can even be said to be “as if it were official”. Although there are traces of audience recording in the vivid clapping and applause between songs, the performance and singing voice are super-first-class with a very thick feeling comparable to line recording and fine details. On top of that, the rich “ringing” has a high level of elegance. For example, the official live album creates a “beautiful sound” by adding effects and mixing to a bland sound board, but this work achieves that “beauty” with a single live on-site sound. The natural feel is even “more than official”. The show depicted in that masterpiece sound is also wonderful. First of all, the show is long. The final Hiroshima and Nagoya performances had a shortened set, but the Amagasaki performance was the same full set as the Tokyo performance. The content also shines even more dazzlingly with the masterpiece sound. Originator: Jon Anderson’s singing voice, Rick Wakeman whose every note shines brightly, and Trevor Rabin who cuts sharply to the end. Rick and Rabin have joined and left YES many times, but this is the first time the two have been together since the “UNION” era. Moreover, unlike the large group of eight people, this time the two’s personalities are pushed to the forefront, and their solos and obbligatos are brilliant. It is a dance of genius phrases that cannot be matched by the many drawers and high musical knowledge of the past members of YES. No matter where you cut it, it is filled with the nostalgic “YES-ness”, but it is an ideal show full of arrangements and phrases that you have never heard before. I thought I understood it well enough from the previous live albums, but the persuasiveness is different when it is depicted with the ultra-high quality sound of this work. I am fascinated again by how beautiful it was. “Heart Of The Sunrise” is where such an ironclad ensemble is disrupted. The guitar makes a mistake in the composition and the performance becomes confused. Of course, it is quickly rebuilt, but that is the scene that cannot be heard in the official work with official-class sound. Japan is known from the world as a famous place for the finest recordings. This is the world’s best live album that will further enhance its reputation. I don’t know if YES ft. ARW will leave an official work in the future, but even if it doesn’t come true, this work is here. It is such a great decision board with a transcendent sound that is so apex. Please enjoy the new northern part of YES music. Live at Amashin Archaic Hall, Amagasaki, Japan 21st April 2017 ULTIMATE SOUND Disc 1 (68:10) 1. Symphonic Music (Perpetual Change Theme) 2. Cinema 3.
