Description
The legendary recording of an absolute master who loved YES has been upgraded! Introducing 2CDs that permanently preserve the sound reborn by the newly excavated original master. The legendary recording was recorded in the “Inglewood performance on October 6, 1978”. It is a super-class audience recording. YES is Mike Millard’s favorite band along with ZEP and the Stones, and he left many masterpieces during this period. In particular, the “TORMATO” era also reigned over Millard’s masterpiece “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT”, which symbolizes the late 1970s. This work is a new masterpiece that can be said to be its sister work. In order to explain the meaning, let’s first unravel the schedule at that time and check each other’s positions. 1978; “TORMATO Tour” August 28th – September 25th: North America #1a (26 shows) “TORMATO” released on September 26th September 27th – October 8th: North America #1b (11 shows) ←★here★ October 24th – 28th: UK (6 shows) 1979: “TEN TRUE SUMMERS Tour” April 9th - May 8th: North America #2 (27 shows) May 24th – June 30th: North America #3 (32 shows) ←※LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT This is YES in 1978/1979. Although they only had one studio work, “TORMATO”, the tour was divided into the regular album tour “TORMATO Tour” and the 10th anniversary tour “TEN TRUE SUMMERS Tour”. “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT” was the latter’s masterpiece, but this work is the former’s masterpiece. It was the 8th performance of “North America # 1b” immediately after the album was released. [The representative recording from the Tohmato era has been significantly upgraded by the original master] As some of you may have already noticed, this day’s Miller’s recording is not the first time. It has long been known as one of the best tour masterpieces, and “Amity 389” has been loved as a standard in our shop. However, the previous releases are at most the 1st generation. This work is the ultimate Gene’s masterpiece that was directly digitized from Miller’s original master cassette. First of all, the length has been updated to the longest in history. The ending scene is 13 seconds longer, and even the closing greeting and venue BGM are firmly recorded. On the other hand, the opening scene was 3 seconds shorter (probably the start timing at the time of transfer), but that was complemented by the previous release. This work is the longest record of any version. Of course, no matter how long it is, it is just a bonus. The truly important value of this work is the sound itself that runs through the entire work. This is already amazing and the scales fall from your ears. If you already have the already released “Amity 389”, please compare it. The airiness of the hall sound is clear and crystal clear, and even the details of the fine parts sparkle. The core also extends straight like a laser beam, and the edges are crisp. Furthermore, the sense of stability is different. There were never any dubbing mistakes on the conventional version, but after experiencing this work, it was built up by the fact that there was a slight flutter when listening to it. To be honest, there is no end to listing the small points one by one like this. To express it roughly in total, if the conventional version is “the best audience”, this work is “completely official class”. It is so different that it seems that it will change so much in just one generation. [A beautiful sister work that concludes the golden 70s] If there is anything that could rival this sound, it would be “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT”. In 1978, there were also the superb soundboard albums “WEMBLEY 1978 FINAL NIGHT” and “DEFINITIVE RICHFIELD 1978”, but “Mirrored Magic”, which is linear but also has the beauty unique to guest recordings, is something only a master can do. Then, what I’m curious about is the 1978 version set, which is similar but not the same as “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT”. Let’s compare them and organize them here.・Third Album: The Clap/Starship Trooper/I’ve Seen All Good People・Fragile: Heart Of The Sunrise/Roundabout・Crisis: Siberian Khatru・Ultimate: Awaken・Tohmato: Future Times/Rejoice/Circus Of Heaven/Don’t Kill The Whale (★)/Madrigal (★)/Madrigal #2 (★)/On The Silent Wings Of Freedom (★)・THE BIG MEDLEY: Time And A Word/Long Distance Runaround/The Fish/Perpetual Change/Soon *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs that were not heard on “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT”. …And so on. Basically, it is very similar to “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT”, and in the middle, the approximately 26-minute “THE BIG MEDLEY” is played. The difference is after the medley, there is no big song “And You And I” that was featured on the 10th anniversary tour, instead (?) they performed the new songs at that time “Don’t Kill The Whale”, “Madrigal” and “On The Silent Wings Of Freedom”. The latter two songs in particular are repertoires unique to that time, and the color is delicious, which is typical of a new album tour. “TORMATO Tour” and “TEN TRUE SUMMERS Tour” are often talked about together. This work and “LONG BEACH ARENA 1979 1ST NIGHT” are unparalleled beautiful sisters that symbolize these two tours. A new masterpiece that has been significantly upgraded by the original master, and has risen to the masterpiece, a masterpiece that has been touted as one of the best recordings of the tour. A super-class audience recording of the “Inglewood performance on October 6, 1978”. It has been a famous recording that represents the tour since the old days, but this work is an upgraded version by the newly excavated original master. Not only can you hear the closing greetings and background music, but the sound that runs through the entire album is completely different. The air is clear and crystal clear, and even the fine details sparkle. The core stretches straight like a laser beam, and the edges are crisp. If the conventional version is a “superb audience,” this work is a transcendent sound that I would call “completely official class.” This is Millard’s new masterpiece that closely resembles the 10th anniversary tour, but also allows you to fully experience the precious shows of “Madrigal” and “On The Silent Wings Of Freedom.” The Forum, Inglewood, CA, USA 6th October 1978 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE!!!)
