Description
The famous Mike Millard recording is now available as an upgrade. This work includes the “Inglewood performance on October 5, 1978”. This is a part of the last tour of the 70’s, “TORMATO TOUR 1978-1979”. First, let’s check the position from the tour overview. ・August 28-October 8, 1978: North America #1 (37 performances) ←★Here★ 《About 2 weeks later》 ・October 24-28, 1978: UK (6 performances) 《About 6 months later》 ・April 9-May 8, 1979: North America #2 (27 performances) 《About 2 weeks later》 ・May 24-June 30, 1979: North America #3 (32 performances) In this way, the last tour of the 70’s was a total of 102 performances. The Inglewood performance was on two consecutive days, “October 5th and 6th”, and the first day is included in this work. This is the 34th performance of the opening “North America #1”. The greatest attraction of this work is the magical sound of the highest quality mirrored recording. This recording itself has been known for a long time, but this work is the 1st generation recently announced by “Krw_co”. A Hi-Fi VHS cassette dubbed directly from the original master was excavated and digitized. The superb sound of this work is a testament to its origin. The thick and meaty musical sound is worthy of being called “like a sound board”, and there is no sense of distance at all. It is terribly on, and the details are super clear… It is a special sound among the many mirrored recordings, and it is not a sound that can be imagined from “70’s recordings”. In fact, the next day, “October 6th”, was also recorded by Miller (you can enjoy it in the simultaneously released “L.A. FORUM 1978 2ND NIGHT (Amity 389)”), which also reigns as a major staple of “TORMATO TOUR”, but the direct feeling is completely different. The pouring chorus, the texture of Chris Squire’s gritty bass, Steve Howe’s rainbow guitar, and Rick Wakeman all sound sharp and beautiful. The cheers that rise up between songs and at the highlights of the songs are remnants of the audience recording, but as you get immersed, you even feel like you’re listening to the official version. This super-exquisite sound depicts a show that summarizes the wonderful “70’s YES”. Although the later reunion is also comprehensive, here a large number of new songs unique to that time, such as “Future Times/Rejoice” and “Circus Of Heaven”, are played. In particular, “Madrigal” and the last big song of the 70’s, “On The Silent Wings Of Freedom”, were played only a few times on this tour and are very valuable. You can experience it with Millard’s magic sound. In addition, “THE BIG MEDLEY” will be performed to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the formation. In this work, each song is divided into tracks, but the five classic songs of the past, “Time And A Word / Long Distance Runaround / The Fish / Perpetual Change / Soon”, seamlessly tell the story of the past. Moreover, each song is played carefully for about 3 to 7 minutes, so there is no lack of appetite, and it is like a “YES history suite” that lasts for a total of 26 minutes. In particular, “THE BIG MEDLEY” on this day is a great performance that was also adopted in the official box “THE WORD IS LIVE”. A famous recording that captured the “last YES of the 70’s” in the collection of legendary master Mike Millard. This is one of the best sounds. A live album of “beauty” that is as lustrous as an official one, while being full of the feeling of “being there”. Live at Forum, Inglewood, CA.
