Description

A superb audience recording of the Tucson, Arizona performance on March 16th from the North American tour accompanying “Fragile” that took place from February to March in 1972, which was Bill Bruford’s last Yes tour in the 70’s. Recorded in. This is a tour of 3 bands: Wild Turkey, Yes, and Black Sabbath, and since they performed before Sabbath, the performance recording time is short at 64 minutes, but the performance is youthful and full of strong grooves with an updraft mood. You can enjoy it. From the opening round about, they performed a hard rock performance with a straight jersey taste. New member Rick Wakeman’s solid organ play shines. Bill also performs unique silly acts at key points, making the song even more appealing. I’ve Seen All Good People is played at a faster tempo compared to the performances that follow. The overall power of the guitar solo part in the second half is amazing. The intro finger-snapping in Howe’s acoustic part that follows is also based on Mood For A Day, making it a nice place to listen. The sound pressure of the acoustic part is also sufficient. The stormy and powerful play of the intro part of Heart Of The Sunrise is a must-listen, and Bill also shows off his tremendous drum play. Bill’s use of brass in the speedy part of the Moog dialogue in the middle is crimson and has a nice feel. It’s a shame that there is a tape change cut at 9:16 just before the grand finale (about 10 seconds of this part is missing). The early keyboard solo part that was only available at this time, full of Rick’s originality, is also worth listening to. Long Distance Runaround, which is played as a medley with this, has a tone that is unique to this period and has effects applied to electric piano, so you can listen to a tasteful performance. Chris’s dirty bass sound in this song is the best. Anyway, you can enjoy the performance with an original sense of color, and it is the best listening place in the whole. The Mellotron flood in the middle part of The Fish is also unique to this period. Chris’s freaky solo play in the second half of Fish and Bill’s spontane drums that go along with it are also worth listening to! ! Perpetual Change’s 6-minute guitar solo is so terrifying that it’s truly outrageous. Unfortunately, it fades out at 9 minutes and 20 seconds near the end part, but you can hear the coolest performance that you can’t hear in the later live versions, such as the overall play and tricks on the beat.
