Description

“9012LIVE TOUR” brought glory to YES once again. A superb stereo soundboard album recording the final performance is now available. This work includes “February 9, 1985 Buenos Aires performance”. This is an FM soundboard sound source that captures a scene from YES’s first South American tour. The biggest point of this work is the sound quality that cannot be expected from South American broadcasting, but first of all, the show position. Let’s take a look at the entire world tour that brought YES back to the forefront of the scene. 1984 February 28th – May 15th: North America #1 (61 performances) June 11th – July 26th: Europe (31 performances) August 9th – October 1st: North America #2 (41 performances) January 17th – February 9th, 1985: South America (6 performances) ←★Here★ This is the whole picture of “9012LIVE TOUR”. “90125” was released in November 1983, but touring did not begin until 1984. It took 8 months to tour North America and Europe, and ended there. The Buenos Aires performance of this work was the final day of the “South American” leg, which was held three months apart. Such a show was broadcast on the radio, and its sound board sound source became known. This work is the latest upgraded version. It was remastered by overseas enthusiasts, and the workmanship is outstanding. The hiss and distortion that were present in the old master have been thoroughly corrected, and the phase is also normal. Although it originally had a wonderful sound that was not typical of South America, it has been refined to a level that can be compared to official works. That said, this work also has a South American feel to it. It’s a bold mix. Speaking of 1985, the historic first ROCK IN RIO was also held. It was the beginning of rock, and its broadcasting was also in its infancy. The mix is also quite rough and dynamic, unlike Western broadcasts where it looks like an official work. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Of course, depending on the broadcast, it may be a little tattered, but this work is on the better side, and the bold pan creates a dynamism like a sound board connected directly to the desk, bringing out the flavor of “90125 YES” to the extreme. There is. This is clear from the beginning of the first song. In the intro of “Leave It”, the main vocal melody rides on top of the scat, but it swings from side to side with great force. The extremely 80’s arrangement/direction is emphasized to the extreme. Although it is overdone when considered as a pure musical work, it reveals the fierce sense of the times and the vision that was at the root of the taste of the time. This is a level of fun that cannot be found in any official work, and it is the real thrill of being a soundboard bootleg. And the show itself drawn with such quality is full of the scent of the 80s. Perhaps because of the broadcast, not all the songs were played that day, and the song order seems to have been changed, but all the songs from the hit album “90125” were performed except for “Our Song” and “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” (!). Insert solo time of each person familiar from “9012LIVE: THE SOLOS”. Additionally, the classic YES repertoire includes four songs: “Yours Is No Disgrace,” “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Starship Trooper,” and “Roundabout.” It is surprising that “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” was cut, but it was often selected from “The Yes Album”, which had a strong rock flavor even in classical music, and it shows how they were a contemporary artist at the time that went beyond the narrow category of prog rock. It vividly conveys the existence of the scene. “90125 YES” became a huge hit and once again became the darling of the times. For some reason, only the half-finished “9012LIVE: THE SOLOS” was officially left, but it is a stereo sound board that can replace it, and it is a live album in which overseas enthusiasts have raised the peak.
