Description
We have prepared a video work that will greatly expand the image of the super masterpiece live album by witnessing the “TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS TOUR”. This work is a video work that reproduces the live performance at that time using precious 8mm film and audience recording. It was produced by an overseas enthusiast and is a digest video that connects 8mm of “Montreal performance on February 25, 1974” and “Albuquerque performance on March 12, 1974”. The best audience recording of “Boston performance on February 26, 1974” is synchronized there. First of all, let’s understand the position of each performance from the overall tour picture. [1973] Early Autumn: Completion of “Tales of Topographical Oceans” November 1st – December 10th: UK (26 performances) December: Release of “Tales of Topographical Oceans” [1974] February 7th – 28th: North America #1 (21 performances) ←★Here★ = “Reminiscence” is out of the set= March 1st – 25th: North America #2 (22 performances) ←★Here★ April 11th – 23rd: Europe (10 performances) May: Rick Wakeman leaves the band This is the outline of “TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS TOUR”. The Boston performance of the main press 2CD and the Montreal performance the day before are “North America #1”, and the Albuquerque performance is “North America #1”. By the way, the dates of “North America #1” and “North America #2” are consecutive, but the difference is “Reminiscence”. Although this tour is famous for the complete performance of “Tales of Topographical Oceans,” it is said that not all movements were played at every performance, but only the opening “UK” and “North America #1.” *Note: The above is a rough guide. The programs for all dates have not been determined, and there are days during the schedule when not all songs are played. In any case, this work, which makes full use of the records of these three performances, is truly wonderful. Since the 8mm film of the time could only be shot for a short time, this work is also a stack of short footage. However, although it is fragmented, it covers all the songs of “Crisis” and “Topographical Oceans,” and provides a digest in about 15 minutes. Moreover, the image quality is extremely beautiful. The film is in a terrifyingly good state of preservation, and the color development is wonderful. It boasts beautiful image quality even when viewed with modern eyes in the digital age, and the scene is brought back to life in vivid colors just as it was at the time. Such a scene shows a fantastic stage that shows a dramatic expression along with the masterpiece. There are some old-fashioned effects such as mirror balls and lighting, but the appearance of the “Golden Five” and the set that emerge from them are beautiful. This is the scene of the legendary tour. The scene. A video work that has been brought back to life by a maniac, showing the five members as they presented a historic masterpiece to the world and tried to deliver it to the whole world. The persuasive power of witnessing it in moving images, rather than just imagining it from sounds and photos. This is one of those films where seeing is believing. A composite of originally silent 8mm footage from Albuquerque 12th March 1974 and Montreal 25th February 1974, synched with audio from Boston, 26th February 1974. 1. Intro 2. Firebird Suite 3.
