Description
This is a treasured recording of the debut live performance held at the famous Hive House in New York in October 1981 after the release of their debut album, recorded in high quality from a miraculously unearthed soundboard recording. The Yellow Jackets were formed when keyboardist Russell Ferrante, drummer Ricky Lawson, and bassist Jimmy Haslip participated in Robben Ford’s 1978 album “The Inside Story”. The band released a new album last year in 2016 and has been highly praised for their performance, but this live recording is a live performance in front of New Yorkers, who are known to be strict about live performances, on the stage of the famous New York live house “My Father’s Press”, where many famous bands have performed. The sound quality recorded from a treasured recording owned by a live house official is as close to the master sound quality as possible, and the freshness has not been lost even when listening to it now. This historic live performance is recorded here.
