Yellow Jackets Robben Ford,Michael Landau/CA,USA 1980 & 1984

Before the release of the debut album by Robben Ford and Michael Landau’s twin guitar duo, there was a rare live performance in 1980 in which they covered two Larry Carlton numbers, and Paulinho da Costa with no guitar and percussion. A 2-disc set with a coupling recording of the 2 rare live performances in 1984 that I attended has arrived! ! ! Founded in the Ricky Lawson Band, which was active in the mid-1970s, member Robben Ford released his solo debut album “The Inside Story” in 1979, and later became a major member of the Ricky Lawson Band. Before the debut Yellowjackets released their first album in 1981, it was almost the first time they called themselves the Yellowjackets, a twin guitar formation that included Ricky Lawson, Jimmy Haslip, Russell Ferrante, Robben Ford, and Michael Landau. Huntington Beach, California, opened in 1923 and hosted numerous artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jackson Browne, and Tower of Power, but unfortunately closed in 1986. A rare item that recorded the first live show on March 22, 1980 at Golden Bear, a famous night club in , on the label’s own carefully mastered high-quality soundboard. After the release of the Yellowjackets’ second album “Mirage a Trois” in 1983, Robben Ford left the group and saxophonist Mark Russo joined, and their final album for Warner Brothers (next album) was released in 1985. On August 15, 1984, in Hollywood, California, Ricky, Jimmy, Russell, and Mark were joined by famous percussionist Paulinho da Costa, who were working on their third album, Samurai Samba (transferred to MCA). A luxurious two-disc set of items recorded at the Greek Theater in the highest quality sound that has been carefully mastered by the label, and is a must-listen for jazz/fusion fans! ! !
