This compilation is a master quality, soundboard recording of radio broadcasts from the UK’s BBC and other radio stations from 1963 to 1967. It clearly shows the change in sound over time, from the early days when the band was a white blues band with Clapton, to the mid-period when Jeff Beck played heavy blues, to the later period when Jimmy Page took the lead with hints of psychedelia. Check out Page’s playing on the singles “Heart Full Of Soul,” “Shapes Of Things,” “I’m A Man,” and “Happenings Ten Years Time Ago,” which are reminiscent of Zeppelin’s later work. 01.
